Animation Scholarships
As part of its commitment to post-16 training, Accipio offers an innovative animation scholarship for undergraduates and college students.
The scholarships fund individual projects from successful applicants throughout the academic year, and are used as part of a major showcase during the summer. The projects give students crucial work-related training, with the added benefit of being paid for their time as well! Possible scholars are invited to enquire via the Accipio or Studio 163 contact details.
Adam Wells (University of Bradford)
Originally commissioned to create an animated sting for Studio 163, the production team liked Adam's ideas so much they ended up commissioning two! The first animation, a quirky fun sting, was designed specifically for an educational audience, while the second, a space-based gyroscopic animation, was more cinematic and aimed at corporate productions.
Jack Taylor (Beckfoot School)
Jack joined Accipio education for a two-week placement, specialising in Flash animation. Rather than producing one animation, Jack concentrated in project planning, story-boarding, and pitching projects. A series of small flash animations were then created towards the end of the placement.
Design For Industry (University of Bradford)
As part of the EIMC degree at the University of Bradford, a group of five students designed and produced a 30 second animation for Studio 163, depicting a taxi journeying through the streets of Japan, inspired by 'Lost in Translation'.
Alex Mairs (Shipley Art College)
Commissioned by Accipio as the first successful applicant to the scholarship scheme, alex produced an epic show reel depicting a camera character called 'Troy' journeying through a series of animated worlds and viewing various film clips taken from Studio 163's portfolio along the way.
