Accipio

Following a successful staff-development workshop at Hothfield's inset day in May 2005, Accipio Education has been commissioned to deliver a media residency for eight weeks starting November 1st 2005. The residency will focus on a film production with the out-going Year 6 students, while preparing a MIDI music research program for Year 5.

Inset day for the Bradford Nursery cluster, providing technical support for a series of feedback workshops in the morning session, and then filming during the afternoon as staff take part in a mixture of arts-based development groups. The film will be edited to provide a highlights package for the day, including a short promo and short edits of each workshop.

The revolutionary new qualification is currently being tried by just a few select schools across the UK. Belle Vue Boy's School see the multimedia-based GCSE as a key instrument in helping turn the school's prospects around. Studio 163 have been commissioned to research and write a report looking at the core structure of the qualification, and suggestions for developing an innovative course content initiative designed specifically to address the school's needs.

Workshops and production based around a whole-school program to produce their own fashion show. With each year group taking on different responsibilities, a whole range of issues from scripting, costume design, choreography and filming were covered resulting in a docu-drama and live fashion show filmed with a broadcast film crew.
